DC Electronics Helps Build Better Schools

Wire & Cable Harnesses

SAN JOSE, Calif.--DC Electronics, a San Jose, California based cable and harness assembly firm, recently announced a new company initiative designed to support educational innovation in Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties. DC Electronics presented Beacon Education Network with a significant donation to help prepare students for success in college and the workplace.

"Our community needs a smart, innovative workforce," said DC President Dave Cianciulli in a written statement. "It's in our best interest to insure that our local educational system produces top-notch people. We looked at the Beacon program and are very impressed. The results Tom and his team are achieving speak for themselves."

Beacon President and CEO Tom Brown said, "We take the approach that we can't just do things the way we've done them in the past and hope for better results. We're always looking for ways to improve learning, and the grant from DC will allow us to personalize offerings for students, their families, and our teaching staff."

Beacon Education Network (www.beaconed.org) was founded in 2006 to open public charter schools in high-need communities on the central coast. The BEN schools are focused on increasing college readiness, admission, and graduation rates for low-income, minority, and English-learner students.

DC Electronics (www.dcelectronics.com) provides custom cable manufacturing and engineering for numerous industries, including aerospace, agriculture, construction, industrial manufacturing, medical, military, nuclear, semiconductor, telecom, transportation, underwater, and photovoltaics. The company's 44,500 sq. ft. facility in San Jose, Calif., has a fully equipped machine shop that produces custom molds on demand. According to DC Electronics, which employs 335, its tooling capabilities and five 30-85-ton molding presses enable the company to meet demand for injection molding worldwide.
