Jig Grinding

Jig grinding is employed when materials to be ground are too hard or when tolerances are too close to machine. It involves grinding holes to a size and location to some reference point or another hole or edge. A 0.00005" tolerance and location is attainable on holes, radii, straight lines, angles or irregular shapes, forms, sizes and configurations. Unique contours are held within 0.0001".

Aluminum, steel, ceramics, glass, titanium, Inconel, fiberoptics and hard rubber can be jig ground. Electroplated materials can also be processed. Vitrified bonded (grit), diamond and CBN wheels are used with air-driven heads and spindles. These high wear-resistance wheels offer speeds from 40,000 rpm to 175,000 rpm, depending on the application.

Serving industries that manufacture everything from paper clips to rocket ships, the full-service jig grinding company utilizes a wide array of equipment. Topping the list is a 5-axis CNC jig grinder, standard jig grinders, standard jig borers, CNC grinders and borers, diameter bore indicators, air gages, electronic indicators and lasers. The 5-axis grinder has a capacity of 24" x 48" with 35" under the column. Tools, dies, molds, gages, fiberoptics, aircraft, spacecraft and marine components are among items that are jig ground.

The ability to comply with NIST Standards, Military Specifications, SPC and TQM is important for the company that provides jig grinding services and products.
