Screw Machining - Multispindle Davenport Machines
There are a variety of screw machining types including Swiss, CNC multispindle and large multispindle. Multispindle Davenport machines are also used in the production of screw-machined parts.
Davenport machines are viewed as the high-volume, low-cost source of products. "Rods in one end and part out of the other" is the adage shared by Davenport operators. Presses, leaded steels and free-cutting metals are processed in quantities from 50,000 to millions of pieces. All ferrous and nonferrous metals can be handled.
Accommodating a variety of attachments, Davenport screw machines eliminate secondary operations. Special operations are threading, cutoff deburring, milling, cross-drilling, tapping, countersinking, slotting, knurling, broaching, trepanning and recessing.

Information tracking systems, chip recycling and oil reclamation are operations that help in cost containment as well as environmental considerations.
Another important aspect of the screw machining business is a Total Quality Control (TQC) program. It checks all design requirements and manufacturing. The TQC program encompasses all functions and departments. The method is based on total lot control and full traceability. Statistical Process Control (SPC) is used to monitor all processing.
