Service Stampings Inc. Earns ISO 9001:2008 Certification
WILLOUGHBY, Ohio—Service Stampings Inc., an Ohio-based metal stamping manufacturer and steel fabricator, announced earlier this year that it has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification. With 55-plus years of experience, Service Stampings had already followed a robust quality management system that included documented quality control, fully integrated process control, and supplier quality performance management and tracking, the company said.
"Maintaining a strict level of quality, plant-wide, from the beginning of each project to the end has always been a priority for Service Stampings," said Rob Stohlman, vice president of sales for the Willoughby-based metal stamping manufacturer, in a statement.
While Service Stampings has received numerous quality awards from its customers, the company felt that ISO certification would be an important validation of its quality management system, he said. "Certification by an impartial third party like QMI-SAI Global, North America's leading management registrar, is tangible proof of our ability to incorporate key quality practices into our day-to-day operations," Stohlman added.
According to QMI-SAI Global, the ISO 9001:2008 standard is based on eight quality management principles: customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. ISO 9001 covers all aspects of a company's activities, from initial contact with a customer or prospect through product delivery and on to customer service. "Our certification clearly demonstrates to our current and future customers that Service Stampings is committed to quality," Stohlman said.
