Aluminum is an important engineering material because of its high strength-to-weight ratio, resistance to corrosion, high thermal and electrical conductivity, appearance, machinability, and formability. Among its many uses, aluminum is used for packaging, structures, electrical conductors, and consumer goods.
Aluminum can be provided in strip metal form - usually one continuous piece or length. Rolled Aluminum strip can also be slit to width and supplied in coil ("pancake") form, wrapped onto an ID or core in a continuous length.
