Glass Grinding

Grinding is a process in which small abrasive particles imbedded in a grinding wheel, belt, cylinder, or stone accomplish material removal. Grinding is ordinarily used only for removing small amounts of material at a time. Grinding permits very accurate tolerances of 0.001" or less, and allows for very smooth surface finishes.

Every glass grinding operation will require a unique combination of abrasive characteristics to achieve the desired results, and suppliers can help users optimize their selection. Being able to specify characteristics such as coarse channel, aspect ratio and particle morphology in addition to particle size distribution can help ensure that the abrasives chosen will be tailored to specific applications.
