Ace Wire Spring and Form Company Receives Manufacturer of the Year Award
PITTSBURGH, Pa.—Ace Wire Spring & Form Co., Inc., recently announced that it won the Manufacturer of the Year - Premo J. Pappafava Family Business Award. The company received the award at the eleventh annual Manufacturer of the Year Awards program, presented by the Pittsburgh Business Times to honor the Pittsburgh region’s proud manufacturing tradition and future.
Ace Wire Spring & Form, an ISO 9001:2008 certified company located in McKees Rocks, Pa., manufactures compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, and wire forms, and has been family owned and operated for over 75 years. The company recognizes and congratulates its fellow finalists: Edward Marc Brands, Inc., Sloan Lubrication Systems, and Walter Long Manufacturing, in the continuing work of advancing the local manufacturing industry as a whole.
In 1939, Ace Wire Spring & Form (www.acewirespring.com) started out in the industry with a small coiling machine making garter springs by hand. The owner, Joseph Vodvarka, was a machinist, working hands-on in the upstairs room of his house, which was converted into a small office and shop to produce the garter springs needed at the time.
In 1976, Joseph Vodvarka's daughter, Linda, and her husband, Rich Froehlich, bought the company. Today, they continue to keep Ace Wire Spring & Form a family owned and operated business. Rich and Linda Froehlich have a strong belief in family, and carry over that belief into the Ace Wire Spring & Form culture when doing business. Customers benefit from this by receiving personalized customer service, engineering assistance, and a quality final product suited to meet their needs. In turn, Ace Wire Spring & Form thanks its customers for making it possible to be celebrating being in business for 76 years.
