Electronics Manufacturing Services Supplier Selects Aegis for MES Software
HORSHAM, Pa.–Karré Elektronik, a Munich-based supplier of electronic manufacturing services (EMS), has selected Aegis Software as its provider of IIoT-driven MES (manufacturing execution systems) software, according to a release from Aegis.
Aegis is a developer of MES software designed to help manufacturers improve speed, control, and visibility of their operations. The company’s IIoT-driven MES platform, FactoryLogix®, comprises execution management, Lean material management, advanced quality management, and analytics. It is said to represent “a natural and essential progression of manufacturing best practices, bringing software-driven automation to many time- and quality- critical areas of the daily factory operation.”
“Being flexible and competitive are key strategies that maintain Karré’s value differentiation in the market,” said Alexander Jung, chief technical officer, development and project management for Karré Elektronik, in a news release. “The adoption of Aegis’s paperless work instructions enables complex, high-mix assembly production, with volatile customer demands, to be executed efficiently without risk of mistakes. But that was just the start. Having a seamlessly integrated MES, including Lean material management, means that we are in complete control of key production operations and dependencies, all in one place. All of the activities and status updates can be seen immediately through dashboards and analytics, all the way up to the enterprise level, and across sites.”
Daniel Walls, European managing director, Aegis Software, said, “Karré is an excellent example of how electronics manufacturing services thrive when located close to their customers and market, through excellence of meeting customers’ core business needs with the aid of differentiating software technology. We are very pleased that FactoryLogix is helping an ever- growing number of customers in the DACH region.”
Aegis Software (www.aiscorp.com) was founded in 1977 by two mechanical engineers, the company said on its website. The company offers what it called “a comprehensive and flexible end-to-end MES platform” that gives assembly manufacturers “the performance, flexibility, control, and visibility they require.”
Aegis software is reported to be used globally in more than 2,100 factories across the military, aerospace, electronics, medical, and automotive industries.
