Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corp. establishing Spartanburg County operations
COLUMBIA, S.C.–Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corp. is constructing a $45 million, 260,000-square-foot facility in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, that will create 150 new jobs over the next five years.
“This investment in South Carolina and in Spartanburg County will further strengthen Jiangnan’s effort to expand its global leadership role in the plastic molding industry. It is very clear to us that South Carolina is a pro-business state, and we look forward to continuing our cooperation with the state as we grow,” said Robert Cao, Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corp.’s chairman and general manager, in a release from the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
One of the largest suppliers of plastic mold parts in China’s automotive industry, Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corp. specializes in the development, manufacturing and sales of plastic products and hi-tech molds. The company will manufacture a variety of parts and products for original equipment manufacturers and tier one suppliers in the automotive industry.
“Jiangnan’s move to Spartanburg further proves what so many already know—that South Carolina has become a top destination for any company in the automotive industry. This $45 million investment, and the 150 new jobs it will create, is a huge win for the company, Spartanburg County, and the entire state of South Carolina,” said South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, in the release.
Strategically positioned to support South Carolina’s thriving automotive sector, the new plant will be located at 1000 Robinson Road in Greer, South Carolina, and is expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2017. Hiring for the 260,000-square-foot facility will begin in the second half of 2017.
“With today’s announcement, Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corp. joins a roster of globally-renowned companies that have concluded South Carolina is ‘just right’ for business. I offer my congratulations to Jiangnan and look forward to supporting them as their Spartanburg County operations come to fruition,” said South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt, in the release.
