MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–Kubotek3D, a developer of precision geometry software technology, recently introduced a new multi-platform program that enables CAD file translation and viewing on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The new program, K-Display® Convert, is built on the universal CAD architecture of the Kubotek Kosmos® 3D framework, introduced last year. The Convert program is the second title under the K-Display brand, which was introduced last fall.
“Kubotek’s K-Display Convert enables flexible sharing of precise CAD data with various downstream CAD/CAM and graphics programs throughout an organization,” said Ram Eswaran, CTO of Kubotek3D, in a company release. “A fast and easy-to-use translator program, such as K-Display Convert, eliminates the need to go back to the design team to request CAD data in different formats.”
K-Display Convert requires no additional CAD software, enabling users to open the latest versions of files from the most commonly used CAD programs like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, CATIA V5/V4, and others. Users can save these files in neutral formats, such as IGES, STEP, ACIS SAT, and STL.
The program allows users to measure any size, distance, area, or volume of solids, and to modify a display using pan/zoom/rotate, transparency, and cutting plane functions. Users can also hide and unhide objects from the original CAD file, print CAD files, and generate image and PDF files, the company said in a press release.
Kubotek3D (www.kubotek3d.com) develops mechanical CAD software and core precision 3D technologies that facilitate interoperability between CAD programs. The strategy allows geometry, regardless of where it originated, to be used throughout the manufacturing supply chain to speed time to market, reduce costs and improve quality, the company said.
Kubotek3D is a division of Kubotek USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kubotek Corporation.
