Leveling Capability Delivers Stress-Free Parts and Assemblies
PLAIN CITY, Ohio—Ohio Laser recently announced that it has added “leveled and nearly totally stress-free punched, laser-cut, and flame-cut parts” to a repertoire of services that include cutting tube, sheet, and plate, as well as making parts and fabrication assemblies. The company reports that with its new FlatMaster® 55 hydraulic precision leveler from ARKU, it can handle and flatten sheet metal parts—even from high strength steel—in thicknesses ranging from 0.05mm through 12mm. Ohio Laser offers the new leveling capability as an independent service.
According to a release from Ohio Laser, the FlatMaster 55 hydraulic precision leveling system can flatten parts in a matter of minutes, eliminating “potato chipping,” while making Ohio Laser’s subsequent processes—including robotic welding, laser cutting and MIG/TIG welding—faster and more reliable. The added capability also allows Ohio Laser to reduce tooling and fixture costs for customers.
