BOSTON and ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.— Milwaukee Instruments will use an Internet of Things (IoT) platform developed by MachineShop, an API-based IoT platform provider that is working with the company, to power its new web-enabled, digital controllers for water application management. According to a release from MachineShop, Milwaukee Instruments’ new offering includes remote connectivity, an intuitive web portal, data filtering, business rules, alerting, reporting, integrated billing, and more.
MachineShop’s approach was said to be unlike others in that its platform gave the customer total control and ownership of the application and all the underlying components and services.
“We embraced the customer imperative for real-time data and remote monitoring,” said Bryan Moore, general manager at Milwaukee Instruments, in the release. “MachineShop’s middleware service not only allowed us total ownership of our application, but provided tremendous flexibility as we add advanced features in the future, such as a multi-location/multi-unit enterprise management portal.”
Milwaukee Instruments (milwaukeeinstruments.com), a global provider of electrochemical instrumentation for water analysis, provides precision diagnostic equipment used in laboratories, food and beverage operations, agriculture, industry, and by hobbyists in a variety of applications.
“The innovation by Milwaukee Instruments exemplifies the endless ways that IoT technology is transforming the Industrial Internet and can provide competitive advantage to companies of any size,” added Michael Campbell, CEO of MachineShop (machineshop.io).
