Ace Wire Spring Hosted Two Groups of Students for Manufacturing Day
PITTSBURGH, Pa.–An estimated two million manufacturing jobs will go unfilled over the next decade due to companies' inability to find talent with the required skills. Manufacturing Day celebrates modern manufacturing and represents a chance for students to see the diverse career options that are available in the sector.
In an effort to help students experience what manufacturing is really like and open their minds to career opportunities in the field, Ace Wire Spring & Form Co., Inc. celebrated Manufacturing Day 2017 for the second year in a row by hosting two separate groups of students for a presentation and tour of the company's facility. Ace Wire Spring, located in McKees Rocks, Pa., manufactures a wide variety of custom precision springs for diverse applications.
On the morning of October 6, the company welcomed a group of students from Sto-Rox Middle School, in McKees Rocks, Pa., followed by students from Brashear High School, of Pittsburgh, later that day.
"Ace Wire Spring believes in supporting the local community and the education of young people in the field of manufacturing," the company stated in a release. "The hope is that this event helped expand the minds of the students that visited Ace Wire Spring, and that they saw the many opportunities for a career in the manufacturing industry."
Ace Wire Spring & Form Company (www.acewirespring.com) is an ISO certified and ITAR registered company that has manufactured custom compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, and wire forms since 1939.
