NANTES, France–A software platform recently introduced by Nextflow Software is reported to ease and accelerate the setup of simulations and the exploitation of results.
The platform, Nextflow Studio, covers the entire computational fluid dynamics (CFD) flow, from pre-processing to computation and post-processing. It provides an environment that lets engineers easily manage their simulation projects and provides an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that simplifies the preparation of simulation input data to reduce engineering time, the company said in a press release.
Nextflow Software, a developer of computer-aided engineering (CAE) software for computational fluid dynamics, said that Nextflow Studio offers an experience that allows users to accelerate resolution of their field-specific design objectives. The platform offers geometry optimization tools and meshing tools adapted to the target solver to reduce simulation configuration time, as well as computation management tools to reduce computation costs. It is also said to provide integrated analysis tools to accelerate interpretation of simulation results, with the capability to export to standard post-processing formats.
Solvers developed by Nextflow are said to allow engineers to study complex phenomena–such as shocks, splashes, and deformations–and simulate complex use cases that are either too difficult or too costly to set up and analyze with experiments, according to the developer.
Nextflow (https://www.nextflow-software.com/) has developed CFD solvers that do not necessitate manual meshing operations. Volume meshing is automated, allowing engineers to spend more time on analyzing simulation results, the company said.
Reflecting an effort to make CFD accessible to all industrial designers, Nextflow Software offers integrated and compatible tools that ease the setup of simulations and the integration to computer-aided design and engineering (CAD/CAE) workflows. Solvers can be coupled to finite-element analysis (FEA) tools for fluid-structure interaction (FSI) studies.
Standard formats are supported for import of CAD geometries and meshes, and for export to external visualization tools. Intuitive and easy-to-use tools provide interactive assistance to users (especially for data setup) and ensure a quick ramp-up, the company said.
