Nordco and OEM Fabricators Reach Long-Term Agreement
WOODVILLE, Wis.--Nordco, a rail equipment manufacturer and railroad services company, and OEM Fabricators, Inc., a manufacturing services company, have reached a multi-year agreement to collaborate on component manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain optimization. According to a statement released by the companies, the agreement and the collaboration that it represents are expected to "drive systemic improvement and increase competitiveness within both companies and in their respective markets."
Nordco and OEM have worked together for nearly twenty years, during which time each company has grown substantially. The value of the multi-year agreement is estimated to exceed $25 million, and cost reductions as a result of the relationship are estimated to exceed $4 million, the companies said.
"This agreement represents an incredible opportunity for both organizations to drive operational excellence and supply chain integration to new levels," said OEM's president, Mark Tyler.
Patrick Minick, Nordco's vice president, operations, said "Nordco has a long history of bringing innovative products to the railroad industry; we are now expanding that drive for innovation through our supply chain. We are looking forward to the benefits that this collaboration will bring to Nordco and its customers."
