Universal Plastics Group Acquires Assets of W. Kintz Plastics
HOLYOKE, Mass.–Universal Plastics Group has acquired the assets of custom thermoformer W. Kintz Plastics, based in Albany, New York. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
"W. Kintz Plastics' 40-year history of expertise in high quality thermoformed parts and focus on excellent customer service in key industries, ranging from transportation to medical devices, is highly synergistic to our thermoforming division and our broader manufacturing capabilities, including injection molding and blow molding," stated Jay Kumar, president of Universal Plastics Group, in a press release. "As always, customer success remains our top priority and guiding focus. With this acquisition, we will further build upon the breadth and depth of value we provide to our customers."
Universal Plastics Group is a family of plastics manufacturing businesses comprising Universal Plastics Corporation (three facilities in Massachusetts and New York dedicated to custom thermoforming); Sajar Plastics (gas assist injection molding, straight injection molding, and structural foam molding), based in Middlefield, Ohio; and Premium Plastic Solutions (custom blow molding), based in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Universal Plastics Group, owned by the Kumar family, plans to hold and grow the business by making investments in capabilities, technology, capacity, and talent. There will be no material changes to the former W. Kintz Plastics staff or to the operating facility in upstate New York, the company said in the release.
