Xact Wire EDM Corporation Expands Capacity, Elevates Quality System
WAUKESHA, Wis.--Xact Wire EDM Corporation, a major provider of machining services utilizing wire EDM and small-hole EDM, recently announced that it has expanded its machining capacity with the installation of five new Sodick AG400L wire EDM machines. Reported to be one of the largest wire EDM facilities in the United States, with locations in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Cary, Illinois, Xact Wire EDM is also pursuing AS9100 certification to further its service to the aerospace industry.
The additional machines bring the total at Xact to 43 EDMs and will allow the company to continue to give its client base competitive delivery times, according to Mike Raasch, business development manager at Xact Wire EDM. "We were very pleased with the service and quality of the past Sodick machines we purchased, and this influenced us a great deal on ordering the additional machines," Raasch explained. "To be a leader in this market, we need to have capacity and machines with great reliability and accuracy. Our customer base is growing and our existing customers have been busy as well."
Xact Wire EDM Corporation (www.xactedm.com) provides precision wire EDM machining services to its customers in the aerospace, medical, defense, energy, packaging, tool, die, and machining industries. "Some of the parts we machine are used in the medical, fiber optics, and telecom industries," says Raasch. "These parts are very small in size and the wire EDM work is very detail-oriented. We work very closely with the customer to determine the best way to approach running their job. The fact that we run a wide range of wire diameters in our machines helps offer flexibility to these types of projects."
Raasch added that Xact has been involved in wire EDM work since 1984. As a job shop, the company has continued to address "all aspects of what customers need and expect," he says. This company-wide philosophy extends from the project engineering department, which provides prompt quotes and design application help, to the company's programming department, where Xact works with the customer to establish the best machine layout for their job. It also extends to the company's production and quality control departments. "All of these departments working together and listening to what the customer's needs are, make us a great job shop to work with," he concludes.
