Two-Piece Board Level Shielding Offers Shield Heights Down to 0.060 inch

PLYMOUTH, Mass.--Manufactured via a photo etching process that enhances design freedom and expedites delivery, a new two-piece, board level shielding line from Tech-Etch makes use of a dimpled cover that snaps into etched holes on the fence and offers shield heights as low as 0.060 inch. Tech-Etch uses standard dimple tooling, said to offer "variable dimple location with excellent cover retention at very low cost," to manufacture the low-profile SlimShield line. No tooling cost is required for standard two-piece designs.

On larger fence designs, an optional flange is available for added rigidity. Multi-cavity designs are achieved by incorporating internal fences, enabling multiple components to be shielded with the same part. Mounting pins are offered in any configuration. Holes and slots for heat dissipation, as well as logos and part numbers, carry no additional cost.
