Brother International Expands with New Gearmotor Manufacturing Facility in Tennessee
BRIDGEWATER, N.J.—In an effort to expand its U.S. presence, Brother Gearmotors, a manufacturing division of Brother International Corporation based in New Jersey but with facilities throughout the world, recently announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility, based in Bartlett, Tennessee. From this new, centrally located and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2001 certification, Brother Gearmotors will provide its customers with new capabilities, including faster product assembly, and delivery, according to company representatives.
With added technology and facility space, Brother Gearmotors will be able to shrink lead times—from order placement to shipping—to an estimated three to five days. With a higher level of service and a broader product mix, Brother Gearmotors will offer new, additional capabilities, including 16 different ratio options and six voltage options.
"Our goal at Brother Gearmotors is to earn our customers' trust every day," said Matthew Roberson, senior director at Brother Gearmotors, in a statement. "Brother Gearmotors is already a premier global supplier of sub-fractional gearmotors. We are adding scalability to our operations by moving into our 1.5 million square-foot, world-class facility in Bartlett, Tenn., and our goal is to triple our output capacity. This is just one example of our commitment to expand our U.S. presence. We are also increasing the size of our customer service, sales, and marketing support teams."
The shortened lead times that the new facility will enable is important to customer Lisa Myers, purchasing manager at FP Developments, a Williamstown, N.J.-based manufacturer with more than 50 years of custom machine building experience.
"Over that time, we've replaced many gearmotors with Brother, and it's become our standard. Brother's high-efficiency gearmotors have allowed us to reduce our customers' electrical consumption. The sealed units have eliminated service calls for leaky gearboxes. Brother's high standards, as evidenced by their ISO certifications, ensure we receive a quality product, which we then, in turn, pass on to our customers. Many of our projects have quick turn-around requirements, so we're very excited about the new facility opening and look forward to providing Brother gearmotors to all of our customers," said Myers in a statement.
Brother Gearmotors (www.brothergearmotors.com) offers a wide range of sub-fractional AC gearmotors and reducers in demanding industries, such as packaging, food and beverage, and unit handling. The company is one of the world's largest fine-pitch gear manufacturers and was designed in response to the industry's demand for smaller, lighter, more reliable, and energy-efficient power transmission components, according to company representatives.
