Contract Manufacturing of Extension Springs
The changing technology of the spring industry makes some of yesterday's specials routine today. Oftentimes job shops can suggest a change in a spring design that can result in a lot of saved dollars. The same holds true when a spring is designed for you right from the start. Let your job shop help you get the competitive advantage. Springs like these need not be costly.
Give your subcontracting job shop all the information you can about the springs you need. Check out the seven basic dimensions, but also determine the min/max of each dimension. Don't forget to specify the material, number of coils, style of ends (see below), winding direction, finish, load requirement, travel distance, frequency of extension, relative end positioning, operating temperatures, and quantity.
