ORLANDO, Fla.--API Technologies Corp. officially launched its SenDEC New Product Introduction (NPI) service on June 16 with an Open House at the new 20,000-square-foot SenDEC NPI facility in Fairport, N.Y., just outside of Rochester. The event offered visitors an opportunity to tour the facility, which includes new multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art equipment, and participate in an interactive demonstration to experience NPI prototype manufacturing capabilities firsthand.
The SenDEC NPI service oversees the manufacture of prototypes, described by API as "the most difficult part of any manufacturing engagement." Its uniquely trained NPI team employs design, engineering, and manufacturing expertise, as well as specialized equipment, to deliver customers fast and high-performing prototypes. SenDEC NPI capabilities include PCB layout, BOM scrubbing, documentation verification, material management, rapid prototyping, testing, and pilot/production/pre-production builds.
In addition, the company's proprietary Design for Excellence review process provides customers' feedback on ways to speed time to production, ensure reliability, and reduce total lifecycle costs.
"SenDEC has developed a very fast, highly specialized, highly customer-focused approach to creating prototypes and pre-production builds," commented Mike Fiske, vice president, sales and marketing for SenDEC. "Our NPI process helps significantly shorten the time to production and reduce costs. At the same time, the prototype manufacturing capability serves as a key tool for future business as many customers have subsequently awarded us the actual production run based on our familiarity with the project and support of their pre-production activities."
API Technologies (www.apitechnologies.com), through its subsidiaries, designs, develops, and manufactures electronic systems, subsystems, RF components and systems, and secure communications systems for technically demanding defense, aerospace, and commercial applications.
