A.T. Wall Highlights Capabilities for Nuclear Industry
Tantalum, Niobium, Waveguide, and Invar Tubing Are Featured at International Conference
WARWICK, R.I.--A.T. Wall Company, a supplier of precision tubing and fabricated metal components, exhibited a number of its capabilities for servicing the nuclear reactor industry at the 24th International Nuclear Physics Conference (INPC), held July 4-9, 2010, in Vancouver, Canada. The company, which produces tantalum, tantalum alloy, niobium, and niobium alloy to customer specifications, highlighted its capabilities for working these materials. A.T. Wall also exhibited its high purity copper rigid waveguide and Invar tubing--materials that are frequently used in capacitors, vacuum furnaces, and chemical processing equipment within nuclear reactors. The materials are readily available, with fast turnaround for both small and large quantities, according to the company.
A.T. Wall's redraw capabilities enable the firm to provide custom tube dimensions, including outer dimensions from 0.040-inch to 4-inches and walls from 0.003-inch to 0.375-inch. Annealing and cutting is also available. With in-house engineering, A.T. Wall can stamp and coin tantalum strip to meet design specifications. Rod and sheet is also available.
"A.T. Wall values new technology and new needs, and we are proud to support all the national research efforts," said A.T. Wall Director of Sales, Donna Parker. "We have a focus on laboratories, and listen intently to what engineers need. Those conducting research programs can obtain material in small quantities and avoid a full production run, which can shave time off the process. But if a project drives towards commercialization, we can flip the switch and go into full production."
Also featured were A.T. Wall's high-purity precision drawn copper, rigid heavy-wall waveguide for high-frequency transmissions, and seamless Invar tubing, which has excellent thermal properties and is used in applications where dimensional changes due to temperature must be minimal. These materials are available in a wide variety of sizes, wall thicknesses, and configurations.
A.T. Wall Company (www.atwall.com), part of the ATW Companies, is a veteran producer of seamless, cold-drawn specialty tubing and metal stampings that include drawn and coined products. The company prides itself on providing rapid turnaround on the design and manufacture of specialty items for which mill numbers are not required. Its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, located in Warwick, Rhode Island, serves the needs of customers throughout the world in industries such as aerospace, electronics, telecommunications, and medical. ATW Companies serves customers worldwide, producing highly engineered metal components from manufacturing facilities in California, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
