Screw Machining: High-Volume Precision Components
When equipped with multispindle screw machines rated to 2-5/8" and machinery for secondary operations such as chuckers, CNC lathes, rotary transfer and an array of other equipment, a manufacturer can produce high-volume precision components for industrial and automotive applications.
Capabilities should include the processing of stainless steel, brass, steel, alloys and aluminum into complex parts through multiple operations. The ability to produce fixturing, tooling and special attachments is also important. Quality support capabilities should include:
- Controlled Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment
- multichannel data collector Statistical Process Control (SPC) network
- gage inventory and calibration system
- documentation generation and control
- computer-based communications network
Instruments used in the quality program are surface analyzers, hardness testers, and comparators.
A proactive customer service team serves as an enhancement to the equipment and technology offerings of the modern screw machining company.
